Chioma Udeozor is an Early Stage Researcher of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions under ETN-CHARMING. Her project topic, “E-evaluation of ChemEng students” is aimed at developing and testing game-based evaluation methods for Chemical Engineering learning using AR/VR immersive technologies. She will be working collaboratively with other members of the team while carrying out this research at Newcastle University, United Kingdom.
Chioma has a multi-disciplinary background. She has a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Federal University of Technology, Owerri Nigeria, and an MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the University of Liverpool, UK. For her undergraduate project, she designed a process plant for the production of ethylbenzene from catalytic alkylation of benzene and ethylene. Her master’s degree project analysed the effectiveness of Generation 10 commodities software on the activities of the commodities trader. During this project, she worked closely with Generation 10 to understand the product and its usability. Chioma also spent some time at Bogazici University, Istanbul studying for a PhD in Learning Sciences.
Chioma’s key interests are in STEM education and the use of innovative technologies in learning complex engineering principles in schools and industries. She is also interested in early childhood development. She has published a number articles on LinkedIn and on her blog (childjourney.wordpress.com) on childhood development, parenting and education with a focus on Nigeria.
