Dr Abegão is Teaching Fellow and a member of the Process Intensification Group at Newcastle University, UK. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, UK, on Magnetic Resonance Studies of Temperature and Chemical Composition in Trickle Bed Reactors. His research focus on heterogeneous catalysis applied to processes for CO2 reduction and production of biorenewable chemicals and fuels. Dr Abegão also works on pedagogy in Chemical Engineering and has taken part in previous H2020 projects on Teaching Effectiveness (iTeach). He has a keen interest in assessment and feedback and in new pedagogical tools for Chemical Engineers, in particular the use of physical computing tools for engineering design, prototyping and teaching of coding and computing skills.
